These fascinating insects are named because of their similarity to hummingbirds, when feeding on the nectar of tube-shaped flowers using their long proboscis while hovering in the air.
What makes these exquisite creatures even more special is that they are said to be healers and bringers of love, luck and joy.
The piece was then set with the birthstone of each family member, including rainbow diamonds, pink tourmaline, garnet, aquamarine, ruby, moonstone and emerald. And a secret message was engraved on the back.
Sophie loved designing and creating this this spectacular and very special piece of jewellery.

]]>With a career in geology and astrophysics, Ann's passion for rare and unusual gem stones and her incredible knowledge on the subject helped make this a particularly fascinating project for Sophie.
The beautiful finished "pebble" band set with vivid green tsavorites and mandarin garnets.
Ann provided two stunning Radiant cut diamonds to be mounted horizontally and vertically into two of the rings. Below is the vertical example made in 18ct white and yellow gold with little yellow diamonds nestled among the intricate vine and leaf details.
A vibrant oval orange sapphire is mounted in between princess cut diamonds and the second radiant cut diamond is horizontally set with delicate beaded detail around the mount and band.
An incredible set of rings for an incredible, colourful and unique lady!

]]>With social distancing measures in full swing at the time, Sophie and Clare liaised extensively via email, discussing various exciting ideas and design elements. Sophie went on to produce drawings of their design ideas and she and Clare continued to discuss details such as diamond colours, shapes and sizes, including the spacing and proportions of the "diamond Lashes".
The central stone was chosen by Clare from a gorgeous assortment of diamonds, including cushion cut, old cut and brilliant cut, sourced by Sophie from her diamond dealer.
Eventually a very beautiful old cut diamond weighing .69 carats made the grade! The central eye was made entirely using 18ct gold and the two shaped bands fitting snuggly around it were made in silver and 18ct gold, creating a stunning ring which can be worn in its entirety or as three individual pieces.

]]>An exceptional young actress commissioned this bangle to tell the story of her life to incorporate symbolic imagery and embody her philosophical ideals. Subtle engraving was also taken from her own drawings. The swan represents her birth and a happy new period in life. An 18ct golden scar dusted with tiny yellow diamonds across the bangle represents the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi ‘the art of precious scars’, conveying a meaningful message of resilience and the beauty of imperfection.
A whale’s tail disappears behind the waves and tiny stars are scattered in the night sky.The contrast of oxidised engraved silver and 18ct yellow gold with aquamarine, ruby and diamonds creates multi-layered imagery to tell a unique story.

]]>The two outer bands consist of her Mother and Grandmothers original wedding bands and the original inscription from one of the rings was carefully preserved and re-soldered onto a different part of the ring. The original hallmarks showing the date, makers mark and city in which the rings were made were also preserved.Diamonds from her Mother’s original engagement ring were mounted either side of the beautiful .92ct Indian briolette cut central diamond. Her favourite colour is purple so Sophie studded tiny purple diamonds around the two outer bands. Her husband’s wedding ring is a beautifully simplified version of hers. The central 18ct white gold band is set with one purple diamond with two fine outer yellow gold bands.

]]>It was important that this ring made in 18ct yellow gold complemented and reflected the wing design on my clients existing cuff.
A stunning cushion shaped 4.5ct aquamarine is flanked by two gorgeous carved Venetian wings set with mink coloured diamonds along each arch.
Three precious birthstones in unusual shades, chosen by her children, blue topaz, mandarin garnet and sage green tourmaline, are mounted on the reverse of the ring.

Not only can clients choose from our existing charm collection, we can re-model inherited pieces of jewellery using their antique gold and stones to create something completely new. It’s so lovely to breathe new life in to old and jaded jewels whilst keeping all of the family’s emotional connections alive to create a deeply personal treasure.
The centre piece to this 18ct yellow gold necklace is a breathtaking 4.84ct heart shaped checkerboard cut aquamarine surrounded by diamonds. Other charms include the beautifully engraved miniature playing card set with a princess cut diamond, and a little dragonfly set with unusual sage green diamonds.Sophie’s necklace includes a beautiful emerald cut aquamarine, once part of a pair of her Mother’s earrings, surrounded by rose cut diamonds which Sophie made specially to wear on her wedding day. It also features a gorgeous rose-pink enamel and her daughter’s winged initial set with a diamond.
This necklace was made using parts from one of Sophie’s client’s original charm bracelet and earrings. A vivid purple amethyst and heart shaped diamond were added as a central pendant drop. A sweet little heart shaped ruby was added from an existing necklace along with an Indian briolette cut diamond. This luminous cabochon moonstone was chosen by our client for its healing properties. It is a stone of inner growth and strength with protecting and balancing qualities. ]]>This unique and precious 30th wedding anniversary ring was created to incorporate the whole family.
Beautiful intricate wire work & goldsmithing echoes the curvilinear style of Art Nouveau and various ancestors & members of the family are represented in the subtle shapes of a lily petal & holly leaf. A beautifully crafted writers quill also has special meaning to the family.
The lucky lady particularly loves colourful, patterned textiles, animals & natural forms and so, the pieces were commissioned with references to particular jewel like colours, flowers and birds. The pieces also incorporate Sophie's iconic love knot symbol of eternal love, and other little secrets like the dragonfly which is the symbol of transformation and wings which represent hope, love and liberation.
This breath-taking parure (necklace, earrings & bracelet) of jewels incorporates diamonds, sapphires and rubies in an array of mouth-watering colours set in 18ct yellow & white gold. As often is the case, this set of jewellery was commissioned in secret so it was a truly wonderful surprise!

Two lovely friends went to renew their vows in Paris after 25 years of marriage.
They decided to redesign their wedding rings to include symbols pertinent to their lives using a heart shaped ruby & diamonds from their original rings & family heirlooms. The 18ct yellow & white gold rings incorporate dolphin tails & Sophie’s signature wings, elements of the sea, and diamonds as stars in the night sky. A tiny symbol of infinity punctuates the symbolic connection of land, sea & sky.
The rings were exchanged during an intimate family celebration on the Pont des Arts. This Parisian bridge was famous for the “love locks”, which were padlocked onto the structure as a symbol of eternal love by lovers from all over the world. "They are works of art Sophie which will endure and be passed on to our children one day. Designed, crafted and worn as a precious symbol of our love....."

This is a specially commissioned anniversary ring in which Sophie worked very closely with the client to create something that had very meaningful motifs included.
Seth originally proposed to his wife, Juliette, in Venice so Sophie used renaissance symbols and architectural details from specific Venetian buildings.
Sapphire, amethyst, moonstone, peridot and diamond represent the entire family’s birth stones and even a tiny treble clef made in gold wire is included as a reference to Juliette’s love of music. Inside there is a secret engraving in French and this intricate piece reads as a visual love story around the ring.

When Clive’s much loved aunt passed away Linda inherited her antique jewels, several pieces of which consisted of beautiful round white diamonds in old fashioned or broken settings. The family still have an original photograph of their aunt wearing the earrings which were to become the backbone of the commission. These were impressive on an Edwardian lady but far too big for Linda to wear and not really in her style. Rather than consigning the original pieces to a safe which would rarely if ever see the light of day, Linda & Clive asked Sophie to create something that would not only make a statement but would also be easy to wear.
Linda & Clive particularly loved the Algerian Love Knot collection which Sophie designed for Eva Green to wear in Bond movie Casino Royale so Sophie created a necklace and earrings featuring the mini version of the Loveknot in 18ct white & yellow gold and showing off the diamonds perfectly. In Clive’s words, “These new pieces have been widely admired and will be an heirloom that Linda will pass on down through our daughter and granddaughter. We feel that my aunt would have approved of what has been achieved as she was certainly no "stick in the mud" and I'm sure would have been very pleased with the result.”

Janet came to Sophie with a handful of inherited diamond rings and a stunning trillion cut tanzanite which she had bought on her travels.
Sophie designed a fabulous pendant in 18ct gold featuring her iconic winged heart and crown symbol set centrally with the tanzanite and surrounded by 26 white diamonds of various sizes. Sophie also adapted Janets existing gold belcher chain so that the pendant could be worn as both a long & short necklace.

This large and spectacular aquamarine stone once belonged to our client Katrina’s mother. It was originally in a very plain setting so Katrina asked Sophie to design something more interesting and befitting for such an incredible stone. The brief was to create a mount that would echo a natural pool found in an enchanted forest with a very organic and natural feel. Tiny gold tendrils and leaves clasp the stone to hold it in place and create a beautiful frame.
These exotic 18ct gold earrings were created around our clients rare and exquisite pair of 4.23ct oval tanzanites. The shell and winged seahorse motifs sparkle with tiny brilliant cut white diamonds and Indian mink coloured briolette cut diamonds drop from each of the vibrant set stones.
These earrings dazzled when worn for the first time in the Royal enclosure at Ascot!

The exceptionally rare & beautiful iridescent opal was in fact one half of a pair of earrings originally belonging to Sophie’s great grandmother who, as a spirited young lady, eloped from Victorian England to exotic Turkey where her husband was involved in building the Ottoman railway. Subsequently they escaped from the Greek / Turkish war on non-other than the Orient Express all the way to Paris! Sophie’s step mother Marie, herself an expert on antique jewellery, wanted Sophie to create a classic and striking ring in 18ct yellow gold using their family heirloom and other diamonds from vintage finds.
