In 2006, a necklace commissioned for a Bond film became a piece of cinema history. Twenty years on, Sophie Harley marks the anniversary with a new, extremely limited edition of the original design.
In the autumn of 2006, costume designer Lindy Hemming approached Sophie Harley with a brief: create a necklace significant enough to carry real weight in the story of a new James Bond film. The result was the Algerian Loveknot, a hand-crafted love token in silver and gold that Eva Green wore throughout her performance as Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, which reappeared two years later, in the closing moments of Quantum of Solace, as the story's final image.

Twenty years on from that first commission, the Algerian Loveknot remains one of the most recognised pieces of jewellery in cinema history, and one of the most requested designs in Sophie Harley's own collection. This October, Sophie marks the 20th anniversary of Casino Royale with a new edition of the necklace.
Introducing the 20th Anniversary Edition
The 20th Anniversary Edition is identical in every way to the original Algerian Loveknot — the same granulated scrolls, intricate wirework and fine hand-engraving that have defined the design since 2006 — now set with thirty-two white diamonds. Like the original, it carries Sophie's signature winged heart T-bar clasp, worn discreetly at the nape of the neck or as a feature of its own.
Only twenty pieces will ever be made.

What began as a commission for the James Bond Casino Royale movie grew into a full collection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and cufflinks, each carrying the same love-knot symbolism of unbreakable bonds and eternal devotion, handcrafted in Sophie's London studio in silver, 18ct gold and, for selected pieces, set with diamonds. The original Algerian Loveknot necklace remains the collection's centrepiece; the 20th Anniversary Edition joins it as the collection's most exclusive piece yet.
