A seasoned world traveller & whose love of the sea knows no bounds, this special client commissioned Sophie to create an ocean inspired ring in 18ct Gold with a showstopping natural blue Sapphire and a scattering of blue & white diamonds.
Visually, Sophie wanted the ring to express her client’s love of all things aquatic. So she endeavoured to recreate the look of the glimmering sunlight through dappled water, incorporating little fronds of wavy coral set with tiny sparkling blue & white diamonds, minute pebbles & subtle waves frosted with white diamond sparkle; encasing the showstopper – an exceptional & rare blue 2.10 carat Sapphire.
It took many months of searching for the right Sapphire for this ring, as natural blue Sapphire’s are harder to source than other blue gemstones. To find a natural blue Sapphire of this intense hue is a real challenge these days, as most gemstones are heat treated to enhance their natural colour.
Made in 18 carat Yellow and white gold, this intricate gemset watery treasure trove sits beautifully on her finger alongside her beloved dolphin ring… a poem to the mysteries of the ocean.
